My husband and I are going to build an organic vegetable garden in our backyard this weekend and I'M SO EXCITED! We decided this year to start from organic seeds, instead of a plant from the nursery.
I love HONEY! Honey in my coffee, honey on my toast, honey in my dog’s food, honey on my face, honey on my hair, honey in my totty, and more….
I have been experimenting with it and had some trial and error moments (see Facebook posts below), but I keep finding better ways to use it! I'm no expert at this health stuff. I'm just a blogger on a mission to make myself (and hopefully someone else, anyone?) healthier and sharing my experience as I go. Let me know if you have used coconut oil and what your experience was and other ways you enjoy using it. In the meantime, me and my coconut oil are having a great time!
I have to admit, I was EXTREMELY skeptical of even going here on my all natural journey... I'm going to get a little personal here, I SWEAT! I have been using prescription strength deodorant and avoiding clothes that hug my underarms for as long as I can remember.. So when I thought natural deodorant, I had a fear of my co-workers and husband thinking I'd abandoned showers and this picture of my armpits dripping and people crying when I came around.
Alright, guys...so you came home from work today and your wife tells you she wants the both of you to go "all natural". What about my pizza and buffalo wings and beer?!?! Those were just a few of the thoughts that crossed my mind... So, when she presented this idea I thought to myself, "All natural....not this guy!!"
With everything being grown year round in hot houses or shipped from another country verses organic farms, I never know if I'm getting good, fresh produce.

Many people may think they are the same thing or will assume that because something is labeled as “Natural” (“All Natural”, “100% Natural”, etc.) that it is minimally processed and/or without hormones, antibiotics, and artificial flavors. Well there is a difference and it’s a BIG ONE!

Unfortunately, the popular American beers contain ingredients that are harmful to your health. Miller Lite, Coors Lite, Bud Lite, Corona, and their originals (JUST TO NAME A FEW!) contain GMOs "genetically modified organisms".
Probably one of the things that I heard the most growing up. Between laying out in the sun and tanning in a tanning bed through my early college years, I was very happily tan. But I wish I would have listened... Not only does unprotected UV exposure cause premature aging (who wants wrinkles!?), but I did get cancer...
Today my husband and I decided to check out this store called Natural Grocers. Unlike Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, they only sell all natural and organic products at an affordable price. There's no double checking to see if what you're getting is the real deal.
So a month before my bridal portraits and 3 months before my wedding, I started getting a weird RASH ALL OVER MY FACE!!! It was awful and literally covered my forehead, cheeks, nose..
I've been suffering for nearly 7 years before I discovered that eating more organic food and MORE PROTEIN was the trick. If I don't have one 30 gram protein shake a day, in addition to my regular, fairly healthy meals (that I try to maximize the protein), then I can almost guarantee myself a pretty crappy day.
Not ALL today...but I've started. After many unfortunate and annoying health problems (which I can discuss in more detail another time), I've been forced in the all natural direction. It hasn't been easy, but the more things I change, the better I feel.
Dogs need to be challenged! Much like people they get bored and when bored they can form destructive behaviors. My dogs luckily don't destroy anything, but they can drive me crazy by chasing their tails, obsessive licking, and jumping in place. In addition to exercise I decided to get them some games to play and so far so good! Check out this video.

My husband and I have very different work schedules and only get one full day together, free from work. It would be very easy for us to drift apart because of our schedules, if we didn't make it a point to eat dinner together and go to bed together.
