Simple Chicken and Dumplings

It is that time of year!! I'm super pumped to be making this tonight. This is a very simple and quick recipe for chicken and dumplings from my mom. Working full time and being a suzie homemaker is quite challenging, so I do what I can to keep my husband and I healthy without getting stressed over not having organic homemade dumplings (as amazingly wonderful as that sounds). I replaced the ingredients with organic products where I could and went as natural as possible with the bread dough for the dumplings. Give it a try!!

  • 1 breast of Chicken (add more if you want!)
  • Biscuits (some kind of dough)
  • 1/2 onion (diced)
  • 5 carrots (sliced)
  • 5 celery (sliced)
  • 2 cartons of broth
  • Pepper
  • Garlic Powder

Pour the cartons of broth into a big pot, cover and turn on high. Slice all the veggies and chicken and once the broth is bowling combine all the ingredients (minus the dumplings and flour). Sprinkle the garlic powder and pepper over the top to taste. Cover and boil for 30 minutes, then add dumplings coated with flour and continue to cook for another 20 minutes. If your broth boils down too much during the process, feel free to add more to it!

Easy peasy! (Is that a word?) Let me know what you think!!
